Does a root canal hurt?
The tooth is fully numbed first. Most patients feel pressure rather than pain, and the ache that brought them in usually eases once the inflamed pulp is removed.
How long does a root canal take?
Most take 30 to 60 minutes, depending on how many roots the tooth has.
Do I need a crown afterward?
Usually, yes. A tooth that has had a root canal is more brittle, and a crown protects it from cracking. We place the crown here, so you do not need to see another office to finish.
